GAMMA GAMMA CHI SORORITY, INC. THANKS SOROR CHRISTINE ORTIZ FOR DEDICATED SERVICE Gamma Gamma Chi Sorority, Inc. thanks Soror Christine Ortiz for her two-term service on the sorority's Board of Directors. Christine joined GGChi's National Grand Chapter as one of the first members when the sorority was founded in 2005. She became a member of the Board of Directors that same year and served until 2009. During her service on the Board, Christine helped to develop policies needed to build the infrastructure for the sorority. She weighed in on issues relating to academic criteria and evaluation, expansion at other locations, application criteria, and outreach. President and Executive Director Dr. Althia F. Ali said, "Christine has been a wonderful soror and a much-needed resource for Gamma. She has an important place in Gamma history, and I look forward to many years of her continued service to Gamma in other capacities. Christine is very special to me and to Gamma." Along with her line sister, Soror Kimberly Harper, Soror Christine wrote the lyrics to the sorority's song as part of their probationary period activities. Soror Christine has an undergraduate degree from MIT and a graduate degree from the University of Central Florida. She is now executive director of Lawton Chiles Preparatory School for Gifted and Talented Students in Winter Springs, Florida.
