TRADITIONS MATTER

Happy Gammaversary, Sorors!
Many thanks are due to Allah (SWT) for this beeutiful* sorority and the lovely ladies who have continued to show their dedication and support of our two-fold sisterhood. We could not have the pleasure of commemorating our founding for the fifth year had it not been for those who believed in the importance, mission, purpose, and vision of Gamma Gamma Chi Sorority, Inc.In celebrating our Fifth Gammaversary, we are celebrating our growth. As we have grown we have experienced a lot in terms of what it takes to build a sorority from the ground up. While this responsibility has not been easy, it has been gratifying and a privilege.
In building the first Islamic-based sorority, we also have had the priviledge of establishing sorority traditions. As we celebrate our fifth year, we are also celebrating our traditions and remembering the importance of upholding our beeloved traditions.
When we remember our traditions we are inherently acknowledging the idea that the traditions we have established and continue to practice are important in our sorority's foundation. As Gamma Ladies, we value our sorority traditions because they foster sisterhood by helping to strengthen and connect us. Our traditions allow us to remember where we came from and insha'Allah where we would like to see our beeloved two-fold sisterhood go in the future.
This year I would like to challenge sorors to celebrate our Fifth Gammaversary all year long by protecting and practicing our sorority traditions as they originated. Upholding our sorority traditions allow us to remember the reasons that this, the first Islamic-based sorority, was founded; what attracted us to Gamma; what makes Gamma unique; and why we are members of this two-fold sisterhood.
By protecting and practicing our sorority traditions as intended when we established them, Insha'Allah this sorority and her beeloved traditions will bee here for many, many years to come for other women to participate in and enjoy.
Editor's Note: The sorority mascot is the bee, and Gammas use "bee" in many instances where "be" might be used.
