Gold Presentation Held in Indianapolis
Prospective members of Indianapolis Chapter with GGChi co-founder
Dr. Althia F. Ali (far right)
President and Executive Director Dr. Althia F. Ali visited Indianapolis on October 7 to hold a Gold Presentation for seven prospective members. The purpose of the Gold Presentation is to provide information about the sorority, to answer any questions that prospective members may have, and to give everyone an opportunity to socialize. The Gold Presentation was held during Ramadan, so the traditional reception was not held; however, everyone found many ways to socialize nonetheless.
Dr. Ali said, "The sisters in Indianapolis were wonderful to visit with. They showed great enthusiasm for our sorority, and I think they will be wonderful additions to our sorority as they understand our desire to give community service and to grow in our twofold sisterhood. We are looking forward to this becoming our Zeta Chapter, insha'Allah."
Attendance at the Gold Presentation is a requirement for consideration for membership. It does not commit either the prospective member or the sorority for further consideration.
The Indianapolis Chapter is slated to become the seventh chapter of the sorority. Applications are due by November 9.

Interfaith Iftar and Sisters Evening of Pampering
Muslim and non-Muslim women enjoyed an evening of food and fun at the home of President and Executive Director, Dr. Althia F. Ali, on October 6.
Held during Ramadan, iftar is the evening meal that breaks the fast for Muslims who have gone from sunrise to sundown without food or drink.
In addition to bringing a food item to share, guests were asked to bring a serious commitment to relax and enjoy the company of other women. In addition to the scrumptious food that everyone brought to share, the highlight of the evening was a pampering party featuring products from Sumelle's Creations, LLC which is owned by sorors Sumaiyah Yates and Mischelle Moody.

Soror Kesha Abdul-Mateen (Beta Chapter) gave all Legacies (Gamma Girls) a lovely Eid gift in the form of custom made bows designed in sorority colors.
According to Soror Kesha, "The woman who makes the bows is a stay at home mom that created a business so she could be close to her kids. I decided the bows would be great for the little GAMMA GIRLS. Eid should be special and so should being a Gamma Little lady."
Her lovely gifts made our little legacies quite happy!

Gamma Gathering Held for Prospective
Members of Indianapolis Chapter
GGChi members, prospective members, and Gamma Legacies meet and greet each other at Gamma Gathering held in Indianapolis on October 27
On behalf of National Headquarters, the Chicagoland Delta Chapter of Gamma Gamma Chi Sorority, Inc. sponsored the traditional “Gamma Gathering” at Masjid Fajr in Indianapolis located on Cold Spring Road on Saturday, October 27. This event was scheduled from 3pm to 5pm.
The purpose of a Gamma Gathering is for prospects and sorors to get to know each other.
In starting the gathering ice-breaker, Delta Chapter President Dionne Muhammad asked each person to give an introduction of herself and to share something about herself that was “different."
Soror Dr. Amy Muhammad, one of the organizers for the gathering, said, "Through that process, we learned so much more about each person and her interests! We had such a great time that it was closer to 7pm when we left than the scheduled 5pm end time! The Indianapolis sisters are a wonderful group of Muslimahs who are eager and excited about becoming members of Gamma Gamma Chi insha’Allah!! This is a group of multi-talented sisters from different professions including nursing and artists. We pray Allah (swt) continues to send such beautiful sisters to Gamma!"
Delta Chapter sorors in attendance were: Avis Muhammad, Kelly Muhammad, Luevinus Muhammad, Dr. Amy Muhammad, and Dionne Muhammad, JD.
President and Executive Director, Dr. Althia F. Ali, said: "I appreciate so much the fact that the Delta Chapter sorors were able to help us further prepare our prospective members in Indianapolis for membership. The Gamma Gathering is a special tradition for us, and I regret that I wasn't able to return to Indianapolis for this event. The fact that the Delta Chapter sorors took over in my absence added a very special element because the prospective members were able to meet a group of dedicated sorors who can tell them from experience what the intake process is like and what they need to do in order to make the most of the process. I appreciate everything that each one of our sorors does for Gamma, and I am so pleased that we are able to continue to grow in key metropolitan areas such as Indianapolis, insha'Allah.
Monthly Muslim Wisdom
Narrated 'Aisha: (the mother of the faithful believers) Al-Harith bin Hisham asked Allah's Apostle "O Allah's Apostle! How is the Divine Inspiration revealed to you?" Allah's Apostle replied, "Sometimes it is (revealed) like the ringing of a bell. This form of Inspiration is the hardest of all and then this state passes off after I have grasped what is inspired. Sometimes the Angel comes in the form of a man and talks to me and I grasp whatever he says."
Bukhari, Book 43:2 (Oppressions)
