Soror Christine Ortiz (National Grand Chapter) is the proud recipient of a fellowship that will enable her to continue her graduate study in non-profit management at the University of Central Florida. According to Christine, the fellowship is for academic year 2009-10. It covers full tuition and $10,000 of expenses. Christine says that her "department picked one student of all the students they have, using just their program application materials, and they picked me - and then I won the fellowship out of the one student nominated from each department." Christine earned her bachelor's degree in political science from MIT in 2005 and a master's degree in education from the University of Central Florida in 2008. Soror Christine has served on the Board of Directors of Gamma Gamma Chi since 2005.
