First GammaFest set for April 6-8 in Maryland
A weekend of fun and sisterhood awaits the attendees of the upcoming GammaFest, set for April 6-8, 2007, in Ellicott City, Maryland. Dr. Althia F. Collins, President and Executive Director, said, "The sorors have worked very hard to help us build the sorority--so hard that sometimes we've not taken enough time to sit back and enjoy the fun side of sorority life. The weekend of activities is designed to give us time to attend the Annual Sister's Conference (sponsored by the Women's Committee of Masjid As-Saffat) while doing things that are special to us as Gammas. We had a wonderful planning committee to put together a series of activities that are sure to please, and I believe that everyone is looking forward to a great weekend insha'Allah. A highlight of the weekend is the Awards Dinner on Saturday evening which gives me the opportunity to acknowledge and thank those sorors who have distinguished themselves through exemplary service in the first two years of our founding. Muslim Monthly Wisdom

Or do ye think that ye shall enter the Garden (of bliss) without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you? They encountered suffering and adversity , and were so shaken in spirit that even the Messenger and those of faith who were with him cried: "When (will come) the help of Allah." Ah! Verily, the help of Allah is (always) near!
