Soror Christine Ortiz receives Master's Degree


       

 

 

With the recent completion of requirements for her Master's Degree, Soror Christine Ortiz can add another accomplishment to her ever-growing list. On August 2, Soror Christine was awarded her Master's Degree in Education from the University of Central Florida.

Soror Christine is a 2005 graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where she was a Political Science major and an International Relations/ Security Studies/Chemistry Minor. She also was in the Teaching Certification Program. In explaining why she chose to get a Master's Degree in Education, Soror Christine explained that she wants to impact educational policy as a member of Congress. Earning a degree in education and being involved in the educational process helps her to understand the issues, she says. She plans to attend Harvard to earn her doctorate.

Soror Christine is a member of the GGChi National Grand Chapter and Board of Directors. She has been involved in the anti-smoking campaign for a number of years.

Soror Christine is President and CEO as well as co-founder of Allen Ortiz Consulting, an international youth empowerment and social marketing firm. Through Allen Ortiz, Soror Christine provides consulting services to state and national programs as well as designing and launching youth focused social marketing campaigns.

Last year Soror Christine launched the K-Lab which is designed "with one goal – helping students succeed academically." The K-lab offers test prep classes, individual and small group tutoring, and other services for students.
