Epsilon Chapter Set to Begin Probationary Period
Members of Epsilon Chapter
The Epsilon Chapter of Gamma Gamma Chi Sorority, Inc. plans to begin the Probationary Period for new members starting April 17.
The Probationary Process is the active period that engages prospective members of the Sorority in work that relates directly to all that the Sorority represents. The time span varies from chapter to chapter, but it must last no longer than 21 days.
The Probationary Process consists of a series of challenges that engage prospective sorors in intellectual exercises and shared experiences designed to: cultivate bonds of friendship and sisterhood at a higher level, increase the sister's knowledge of the Sorority and as a member of the ummah, engage the sister in community service as a representative of the Sorority, and provide the opportunity for existing members to observe the sister's method of working through challenges alone and with others. All activities are designed to fulfill the purpose of providing women with loving memories and meaningful, lifelong experiences that they carry for many years afterwards.
The traditional Lavender Luncheon is set for April 26, which is designed to serve as the Lilies' (prospective members) first community service project. The Lavender Luncheon also is a time for prospective members to be introduced to their community and to meet the members of each others' families.
The Epsilon Chapter serves the Philadelphia metro area.
